Yesterday’s picture of comet NEOWISE must have been an omen because contrary to our view on subject variety it is once again the magnificent city of Rome that is on the foreground of this spectacular picture of the rising Supermoon on May 26th made by Gianluca Masi.

The recent 26 May Supermoon rises above some of the most celebrated monuments of Rome, Italy, at sunset. Colosseum, Castel Sant’Angelo, the Pantheon’s dome and The Altar of Fatherland are well visible. It truly was a stunning experience.

Gianluca’s story is at least as appealing as his picture and we highly recommend one of the projects he initiated: The Virtual Telescope Project. This project gives everyone the opportunity to remotely observe our cosmos through a high-end telescope, often accompanied with live professional comments.

You can find links to the projects’ website and social media at the bottom of this article.
